Experience is the best teacher.  This proverb  is very  appropriate   for  describing  what we have done     for a   year in SMPIT  Nur  Hikmah.  In here,  we got many things. They are knowledge ,  experiences , relationships and many more.  We were  busy.   We had many activities.  Do you want to know about them ? Here we go.

It was the first time  I went to a new  school.  As a new teacher, I arrived earlier. Everything was new.  No one knew me except  the headmaster.  We prepared for the first day of the academic year 2016/2017.

I stood in front of the new students delivering a presentation.  I told about   English  Quality Assurance. There were  eleven QA of our school.  Having ability in speaking English and achieving  the optimal score in national examination were the goals.   My presentation was a part of POWER.  POWER comes from  Pekan Orientasi Siswa dan Perkenalan. Five days program held by our school for welcoming new students.   We  shared  to the students how to be a junior high school students.

We were  full day school .  The school  began at 7 a.m. and finished   4 p.m.   It was the first  time , we studied  in normal time, Monday  to  Friday.  Saturday and Sunday were  our  day off. So , Happy…

We spent this week end in Malang. We visited Jatim Park.  We enjoyed the day.  We were in East Java.  Thirty six  students  of grade eighth accompanied by  some teachers  studied English in Pare. For two weeks, August 20, to September 4, 2016, they were far from their parents. They were independence  and strong , living in rural area. They were out of their  comfort zone.

It was Saturday. We had prepared our own bicycle. . All  of students rode bicycles.   Yeah,  It was FUN  BIKE.  We did it four times a year,  two times in a semester. Before we faced the tests, mid term test and final test , we have fun first.  For the seventh grade students visited a student’s house.  And for eighth grade, we did charity.  We cleaned Masjid or Musholla near the school. We swept the floor, cleaned the windows, brushed the toilet. In the end of the program,  we donated holy qur’an or some souvenirs  to Masjid.

It was the last day of mid term test.  We did the test for two weeks.  The first week was the practical examinations,  for Al Qur’an, computer, and many more. The second week was the written test. The students focused on them.  They worked hard to  get the best score.

Everything was green.  The grass was green ,  the uniform was green, the houses were green. The play ground was green.  We were in the green area.   For two nights  three days,  seventh grade students   were out of school. They were in Rindam Jaya,  Condet, East Jakarta. They joined the program, Basic Leadership Training for Students or  we called it LDKS  or  Latihan Dasar Kepemimpinan Siswa.  They  were trained to be discipline, struggle ,  and tough students.

Danin’s house and Rama’s house were noisy.  There were many students. They were reciting holy qur’an.  They read holy qur’an for the whole book together.  They usually read holy qur’an  in their home. But it was special moment.  We called it khataman.  Before we do test, we did it. It took four times a year, and the location was  interchangeably.

The security officers were busy. They managed cars to park  in the parking area. The teachers was ready in the classroom .  It was the special day.  It was time for parents to come to school.  They had to take the  student’s report.   The students were happy, because they had  holiday  for two weeks.
